IVAP - OSHA Standards and Infection Control

Detail your veterinary practice's systematic approach to meeting OSHA guidelines. Include who is in charge of your hospital's OSHA compliance plan, training, labeling, providing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and supplying other important information to the team.

Six of the most common OSHA violations are listed below:

1. No food or drink outside of the designated break room.

2. Hearing protection is included in PPE standards for your hospital.

3. Radiation areas have caution signs and warnings, appropriate PPE (including dosimetry badges), and written operation safety instructions.

4. There is an eyewash station in the lab.

5. Your clinic has written emergency plans that provide detailed response guidelines for if an emergency occurs.

6. The hospital dress code requires closed-toed shoes for all employees.
